Wrap up: August, 2020

Books: 5

Pages: 1,293

I haven't read all the books I had planned for this month but at least I've achieved to read five out of eight books from my August TBR. This month's average rating has been of 3.7 stars, and the books I've enjoyed the most have been May Day by Josie Jaffrey and The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, the Eclipse novella by Stephenie Meyer - the best book in the Twilight Saga so far.

I really enjoyed The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner because it was a break from Bella and all her drama. This novella wasn't only around love and friendship, here you learn about how raw and cruel the vampires can be, but also how they realize they're being cruel sometimes, but they can't help it because they're thirsty all the time and need human blood to appease this thirst for a few days. In this novella you can see how well Stephenie Meyer built the Twilight Saga world, which you don't appreciate in the rest of the books because it's so focused on Bella and her love life that you can't see beyond what she sees.

May Day was an advance reading copy provided to my by the author herself and it was absolutely surprising. It's the first book in a new series called Seekers, and it's filled with vampires, mystery, romance, drama and a lot of tension. I can't wait to read the next book! You can read my reviews on it and on Killian's Dead (the prequel to May Day) by clicking on the books titles. Also, let me know what you've read this month and what are you planning to read in September in the comments section under this post!
